From Our CEO

Our goal is to fill a need that is often overlooked by regional and national banks. We are committed to building a legacy bank that serves the long-term needs of the businesses in our community.

Our Story

In 2018, Ramsey Hamadi, Chief Executive Officer, met with several Triad leaders who shared a vision of creating a Triad Based Bank to serve the small businesses in our community.   From 2015-2018, North Carolina lost seven institutions serving the Triad Market through consolidations and mergers.   Ramsey quickly imagined a brighter economic future for the Triad.

He immediately began to reach out to potential Directors across the Triad and assembled an impressive list of Directors.  He then reached out to former teammates, Wes Budd and Robin Hager to help him organize the Bank.  His next step was to recruit Jeff Montgomery to serve in the role as Chief Banking Officer.

The team of Directors and Executive Officers then started focusing on raising $50 million in capital, implementing technology, finding locations, and starting the process of assembling a team of strong employees, both in support and sales roles.

The hard work paid off and the Bank in organization raised almost $51 million in capital and received their charter from the NC Commissioner of Banks and FDIC approval and coverage by early March 2020.

Triad Business Bank opened in Greensboro, NC on March 11 just days after the coronavirus virus was declared a pandemic and about two weeks before Governor Roy Cooper declared a statewide shelter-in-place for North Carolina.

While Triad Business Bank was not originally planning to serve as a Small Business Administration lender, the Bank very quickly completed the requisite paperwork and was approved to be an approved SBA 7(a) lender which allowed the Bank to participate in the Paycheck Protection Program.

After receiving approval, the small staff quickly jumped in and processed 350 PPP loans totaling about $108 million.  The PPP loans generated by the Bank are estimated to have had an impact on 12,000 jobs in the Triad economy.

Timeline

Every business starts with a story. Triad Business Bank’s story started with a mission to be a locally formed and supported bank to make a difference in the local community, the story has just begun but the mission will remain the same.
